South Point High School / Belmont, NC
Engineering Club
We meet every other Wednesday in Room 105. Bridges, gliders, circuits, code — we design something, make it, and find out whether it works. Anyone can come.

3:30–4:30 PM · Mrs. Best’s room (#105)
What we do
Engineering is a wide subject and we try to cover as much of it as fits into an hour after school. Some units are hands-on, some are on a screen, and most run over a few meetings.
Code and websites
HTML, CSS and a bit of JavaScript. This site is one of the club’s own projects — if software is your thing, there is plenty here to work on.
Electronics and circuitry
Current, resistance, and why an LED needs a resistor in front of it. Breadboards and multimeters — one of the things we’re getting into this year.
Building and testing
How a wing makes lift, what holds a bridge up, and what happens when it doesn’t. We build things and then find out how they hold up.
